Private & Friends at Panzerhalle Salzburg – 3 works (60×80) on view

 

For the next two weeks, three of my works are on view at Panzerhalle Salzburg as part of the Markthalle reopening and around the Private & Friends event celebrating 11 years of Panzerhalle. The setting feels made for this series: raw industrial architecture, concrete, steel, warm light portraits that genuinely belong in that environment.

I chose these three female portraits because together they work almost like a small trilogy. Two pieces are finished with epoxy resin, one is kept matte. Gold and silver details add another layer -something refined placed inside something rough, which fits the Panzerhalle atmosphere perfectly.

​

What I want viewers to feel is a shift in perspective: at first you see a digitally created woman-then you realise she is physically present in the room. Not on a screen, but here, surrounded by people, sound, and industry. And in that moment, it’s not only you looking at the work -you feel subtly looked back at.

​

All three works are 60 × 80 cm. The process begins digitally, but it is intentionally brought into the physical world: print as a base, then acrylic, decisions made by hand, and finally epoxy with relief-like, 3D-leaning areas so light doesn’t just hit the surface-it starts to “move” inside the piece. That tension between matte and gloss, flatness and depth, is central to the series.

I call this approach Code and Reality: creating something pixel/like and digital -and then shaping it further so it doesn’t remain purely “perfect digital”. I want the final work to feel like an object: surface, light, small imperfections, and the part of the hand that makes it alive.

Private & Friends in der Panzerhalle Salzburg – 3 Werke (60×80) vor Ort

Für die nächsten zwei Wochen hängen drei meiner Arbeiten in der Panzerhalle Salzburg -im Rahmen der Neueröffnung der Markthalle und rund um das Private & Friends Event zum 11 Jahre Jubiläum der Panzerhalle. Das Setting passt für mich perfekt: dieser rohe Industrielook, Beton, Stahl, Licht und mitten drin Portraits, die genau mit dieser Umgebung spielen.

Ich habe bewusst drei Frauenmotive gewählt, weil sie zusammen fast wie eine kleine Trilogie funktionieren. Zwei Werke sind mit Epoxidharz überzogen, eines habe ich matt gelassen. Dazu kommen Gold und Silber in Details-weil genau diese Mischung aus “edel” und “hart / industriell” in der Panzerhalle extrem gut harmoniert.

​

Was ich mir wünsche, wenn man davorsteht: Dass man zuerst “nur” eine digital entstandene Frau sieht -und dann merkt, dass sie real im Raum hängt. Nicht am Bildschirm, sondern hier, zwischen Menschen, Geräuschen und Industrie. Und dass sich die Perspektive ein bisschen dreht: Du schaust nicht nur das Bild an -du wirst auch ein Stück weit von dieser Figur “zurück angeschaut”.

Alle drei Arbeiten sind 60×80 cm. Der Prozess startet digital, wird aber bewusst in die echte Welt geholt: Print als Basis, dann Acryl, Entscheidungen am Material, und am Ende das Epoxid mit reliefartigen, 3D ähnlichen Bereichen, damit Licht nicht nur drauf fällt, sondern im Bild “arbeitet”. Genau dieses Spiel aus matt vs. glossy, Fläche vs. Tiefe ist ein zentraler Teil der Serie.

​

Mein Ding nenne ich Code and Reality: etwas Pixelförmiges, Digitales entwerfen und es dann so weiterformen, dass es nicht rein “perfekt digital” bleibt. Es soll am Ende ein Objekt sein, das man wirklich spürt: mit Oberfläche, Unruhe, Licht, kleinen Fehlern und genau dem Anteil Handarbeit, der es lebendig macht.
